Local Expertise for Enid
Enid's older neighborhoods date to the boom right after the Cherokee Strip land run. Kenwood was the city's first addition, with the boulevard laid out in 1894 and most of the houses built 1895 to 1915 — American Foursquares with steep hipped roofs, dormers, and a lot of vertical surface for wind to work on. The four Waverley additions were platted 1902 through 1907 and hold close to 275 historic homes across roughly 24 blocks. Around that core sits the oil-and-wheat-era ranch stock and newer subdivisions south and east, which is where the 2026 tornado did most of its structural damage.
We serve homeowners in Waverley Historic District, Kenwood Historic District, Gray Ridge, and surrounding Enid neighborhoods. Our crews know the local building codes, conditions, and project patterns specific to Enid.
Local Note
After the April 2026 tornado, Enid got the out-of-state traffic that follows every EF4 — crews with no CIB registration, no local address, and a contract that only funds once the insurance check clears. The registration number is public and it is supposed to be on their advertising; if it isn't, that's your answer.

Central Oklahoma Storm History
The storms that shaped how we build roofs here.
May 16 OKC metro hailstorm
Softball-size hail across the metro — still the benchmark event Oklahoma City roofs are measured against.
May 20 Moore EF5 tornado
Over a thousand homes damaged or destroyed; reshaped how central Oklahoma thinks about roof decking, fastening, and rebuild codes.
April 19 metro hailstorm
Large hail raked the metro with insured losses in the hundreds of millions — a spring-season reminder that filing windows matter.
May 22 wind & hail outbreak
Another multi-county wind and hail event in the heart of storm season — same-day tarping calls across the metro.

Local Conditions & Codes in Enid
Climate & Conditions
Northwest Oklahoma runs a different severe-weather profile than the metros: fewer storm days, but the ones that come through are often high-based, fast-moving, and violent. The April 2026 EF4 was the strongest tornado Garfield County had seen in nearly 35 years. Enid also sits in the ice belt — the 2020 storm put up to 2.5 inches of accretion on this area, which is enough weight to tear gutters off fascia and drop limbs through decking.
Building Codes & Permits
Enid issues its own building permits and Oklahoma City's reroof-permit rule has nothing to do with work here — confirm current permit requirements with the City of Enid permit office before a tear-off. Roofing contractors must hold Oklahoma Construction Industries Board registration under the Oklahoma Roofing Contractor Registration Act, and that number belongs in their advertising. Under state law no contractor may pay, waive, rebate, or absorb your insurance deductible, regardless of what a door-knocker tells you.
